Company Description
We build AI-powered digital experiences - designed to perform, adapt, and handle complexity.
Some of our work includes modernising UNICEF’s global platforms, rebuilding Stanford's infrastructure, and winning Splash Awards for our work with Diabetes.org.
We’ve also supported legal aid organisations, research institutions, and healthcare platforms dealing with legacy sprawl and fragmented systems, and built AI solutions using our orchestration system, Aeldris.
We take on the kind of problems packaged tools don’t solve - brittle systems, sprawling content, disconnected UX. Problems that require more than a stack and need thinking.
We’re engineers, designers, and product people who care about culture, how things work, and what they solve.
Job Description
We are looking for a GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) & AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) Technical Consultant - someone who sits at the intersection of technical SEO, AI-driven search, and strategic consulting.
This is not a traditional SEO role. We need a practitioner who deeply understands how large language models (LLMs) retrieve, rank, summarize, and cite content - and can translate that understanding into actionable strategies for our clients across industries.
The ideal candidate is technically sharp, analytically rigorous, and consultative in approach. You don't sell services - you demonstrate value. You contextualize the technology behind AEO and GEO into tangible business outcomes, tailored to the client's industry and growth stage.
What You'll Do
Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute GEO and AEO strategies that ensure client brands are discoverable, cited, and recommended by AI-powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and others).
- Design content optimization frameworks that align with how LLMs index, interpret, and surface information - going beyond traditional keyword-driven SEO.
- Implement structured data, schema markup, and entity-based optimization to improve AI comprehension and citation of client content.
- Optimize for featured snippets, voice search, zero-click results, and AI-generated summaries.
- Bridge traditional SEO best practices with emerging GEO/AEO methodologies to build a unified organic visibility strategy.
Technical & Analytical
- Conduct comprehensive technical audits covering crawlability, indexing, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, site architecture, and AI-readiness of content.
- Work with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics (GA4), SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and emerging AI visibility platforms (e.g., Profound, Otterly.ai, Peec AI, SE Ranking AI Tracker) to monitor, measure, and improve AI search presence.
- Build dashboards and recurring reports using GA4, Looker Studio, or similar tools and, more importantly, derive clear action items and strategic recommendations from the data.
- Track and analyze how and where client brands appear in AI-generated answers, and develop remediation strategies for gaps.
Consulting & Client Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients - lead discovery calls, present audit findings, walk through strategic roadmaps, and conduct quarterly business reviews.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language that resonates with stakeholders ranging from marketing managers to C-suite executives.
- Contextualize GEO and AEO strategies with industry-specific use cases - whether it's e-commerce, healthcare, SaaS, financial services, real estate, education, or professional services.
- Focus on demonstrating the true value of GEO/AEO to clients through data, case studies, and measurable outcomes rather than relying on a sales-driven approach.
- Proactively identify opportunities within client accounts and recommend strategies grounded in evidence and business impact.
Thought Leadership & Enablement
- Stay current with how AI models retrieve and prioritize web content - including updates to Google SGE/AI Overviews, ChatGPT browsing, Perplexity, and other generative search interfaces.
- Contribute to internal knowledge-building through documentation, playbooks, and team training on GEO/AEO best practices.
- Help shape the service offering by identifying patterns across client engagements and codifying repeatable frameworks.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in SEO, with demonstrable progression into AEO and/or GEO strategy and execution.
- Deep technical understanding of how search engines and LLMs crawl, index, interpret, and surface content - including structured data, schema markup, NLP fundamentals, and entity-based SEO.
- Proficiency with core tools: Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush or Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Tag Manager, and at least one data visualization/reporting tool (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with AI search ecosystem: Understanding of how platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Microsoft Copilot retrieve and cite content, and what optimization levers influence visibility.
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to read reports, identify patterns, and translate data into prioritized, actionable recommendations - not just surface-level observations.
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to present findings, defend strategic recommendations, and build trust with clients through clear, structured, and jargon-free communication.
- Consultative mindset: You lead with insight, not pitch decks. You listen before you recommend. You focus on solving problems, not upselling.
- Industry contextualization: Ability to adapt GEO/AEO strategies to different verticals and articulate value in terms that matter to each industry (e.g., patient acquisition for healthcare, product discovery for e-commerce, lead generation for SaaS).
Good to Have
- Experience working in a digital agency or consulting environment serving multiple clients simultaneously.
- Hands-on experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, headless CMS) and basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript understanding.
- Familiarity with CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), A/B testing frameworks, and UX principles.
- Experience with AI chatbot platforms (Dialogflow, Rasa, or similar) and understanding of conversational AI workflows.
- Exposure to enterprise SEO platforms or AI visibility tracking tools (Profound, Otterly.ai, Peec AI, SE Ranking AI Tracker, Seonity).
- Knowledge of content strategy, editorial workflows, and how authority and E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) signals influence AI citation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Marketing, or a related field.
What Success Looks Like
- Clients see measurable improvement in AI search visibility and citation frequency within the first 90 days of engagement.
- Reports don't just describe metrics - they drive decisions. Every report you deliver comes with a clear "so what" and "now what."
- Clients view you as an extension of their team, not a vendor. Retention and expansion happen because of the value you consistently demonstrate.
- You can walk into a room with a healthcare CMO on Monday and an e-commerce VP of Growth on Tuesday, and make GEO/AEO relevant and compelling for both.
- Internal team members come to you as the go-to person for GEO/AEO knowledge and best practices.
